The SAA hits the road

Yesterday (March 16) Carol Myers and I made the drive to New Castle, IN to the Henry County Art Center (218 S. 15th St.) with our cars packed with art to install ‘Stutz On the Road’. This exhibit marks the first time members of the Stutz Artists Association have exhibited as a group outside of the Stutz Business Center.

We were contacted late last year about taking our act on the road, learning that several Henry County residents had made the trek to Indianapolis to the Stutz in the past and wanted to see us in their community. The Henry County Art Center is also host to the traveling Hoosier Salon show each year.

After loading in approximately 50 pieces of artwork, ranging from painting and drawing to sculpture and printmaking, we began the long process of laying out and hanging the show- a daunting task considering the wide array of artistic styles, media, size, and content.

Installing 'Stutz On the Road'

Stutz On the Road is sponsored by Edward Jones Investment and is running now through Saturday, April 18.  Please join us for a reception with many of the exhibiting artists Thursday, March 25, 6-8pm. The Henry County Art Center is located in downtown New Castle, just an hour east of Indianapolis off I-70.

This exhibit is just one of your chances to see a ‘sneek peek’ of our artists and their work before the much-anticipated Stutz Artists Open House, April 23 and 24. Please visit our website, here, or keep checking back for more information on the Open House.

See you at the show and thank you to our friends in Henry County!
